Elevated Minds CIC 3 Week Project Overview

Our online programme was created due to the current circumstances of COVID-19. The world is currently experiencing an epidemic with an uncertain date to when life will return to ‘normal’, schools are closed with exception to vulnerable children, adults are being asked to work from home, some cannot due to the nature of their jobs, unemployment is now at an all time high! Panic buying has become the norm, non-essential shops are slowly but surely being set to close, leaving home should only be done if necessary and our essential workers are being tested, in a way they never would have imagined when they pledged to their services. In this time we are all expected to try to gain the right balance, physically, emotionally, mentally, socially and within work and education.

COVID-19 is an extremely important time to maintain the needs of security and consistency for young people, education does not look or feel the same for them! Routine will start to fade and the mental effect of staying in one place for the majority of their days will begin to take its toll, this is why Elevated Minds CIC has designed a six week programme Monday-Thursday, constructed of six activities that focus on the following areas:

  • Mindset

  • Awareness

  • Self-awareness

  • Emotional Intelligence

  • Confidence Building

  • Resilience

  • Self-belief

  • Self-esteem

  • Drama

  • Art & Design

  • Routine management

Week 1. Three Words

Young people will be asked to write down three words daily, that they have learned about themselves, things they have done, emotions that they have felt or thought and words that have been used more frequently since being in their new circumstances, all words will be expected to follow with an explanation for each word, be as open with yourself as possible, there is no right or wrong answers, as this task is about your personal journey.

This unit can be written, video or audio recorded:

Challenge: Fitness Video – Defined by Paige

Week 2: COVID-19 Monologue, Poetry, Rap or Spoken Word. 2020

Each of the above will be capture the emotions, thought processes, environment, body language, facial expressions and tone of voice, of what type of impact coronavirus had on each person during their experience. This will allow for a moment of release each day, the memory will never fade as the document will last forever.

Use your 3 words from the previous activity or choose 3 words from the list below to create your monologue, poem, rap or spoken word. Words can be repeated as often as you like.

Challenge: #Create2Elevate

This challenge is an open platform, any creative form can be displayed such as

dance, music, instruments, art-work, miming, family time, anything positive can

be showcased, I believe an open platform is important as it does not exclude anyone

and allows all young people to express themselves in a way they feel comfortable.
